The Set Section Parameters/Run tab separates the section creation and student scheduling processes with the Create Sections and Run tools. The Create Sections button allows users to generate study hall classes en masse. Users can automatically generate the number of sections needed to satisfy all student free times or manually define the specific number of sections to be created per period. Grade, gender, and location restrictions can be applied to individual sections to ensure that only eligible students are placed in each section during subsequent runs. Users can also generate study hall sections without a room or teacher assignment at the time of creation.

- The Run button allows users to place students into study hall course sections. The partial scheduling and maximum sections per student per day options are available from this interface. The Run Results display by grade level the remaining student free times after each sectioning run.
- Once a Run has been generated, the Delete Study Hall Classes button allows users to delete students from a study hall section without deleting the section, or to delete the section along with all student enrollments for that section.
- The Delete Run button will delete the selected Run log(s) only. Students will remain scheduled in the Run’s study hall sections unless the sections are deleted or students are dropped from the class.
The Overlapping Periods tool supports schedules that contain overlapping periods. Both the Free Time Matrix and the sectioning process consider overlapping bell times to ensure that students are not scheduled in conflict.
