Individual Calendar Events on the District Calendar control the flow of the School Year. This article outlines creating new Calendar Events. Add applicable Calendar Events, such as Progress Reports, Superintendent’s Days, etc as needed.
The Marking Period Calendar Events, with their associated Grade Entry Windows, are copied forward during School Setup. Do NOT delete the Marking Period Events, as this action will delete any Average Formulas (both building-level and course-level), Course Weights, Marking Period Weights and Assessment Weights that reference them. Instead, edit the dates for the Marking Period Events and Grade Entry Windows as needed for the new academic year.
Where to Start
- Go to District.
- Select Calendar.
- The Calendar menu open by default.
- Select the District or School for the event as needed. For District-wide events, select the District Name from the menu.
- Update the Month/Year as applicable for the event.
- Select Search to update the calendar displayed below.
- Select New to create a new event. Or select the blue number on the calendar to have the Start Date automatically populated.
New Event
- Choose an Event Type from the dropdown menu. Depending on the Type, additional fields may become available to enter information.
- Enter an Event name.
- Enter a Description if desired.
- Provide a Start Date and End Date for the event. If a date was chosen directly from the Calendar, the Start Date will already be populated.
- Check the boxes to Show on Parent Portal and/or Show on Student Portal as needed.
- District Level is checked by default, indicating the event can be edited only at the district level.
If the event should be editable at the individual building level, then check School Level. If School Level is checked, the screen will expand to display a list of the district buildings. Check
each building which should have permission to edit the event. - Select Save to create the event.
