The Scheduling Setup Guide provides a basic overview of the steps needed to prepare for the eSchoolData scheduling process. This preparation falls into five general categories: School, Courses, Students, Rooms and Staff. All of these setup processes can occur at any time during the school year; none of them have to wait for the school year to be advanced (bit-flip).
School
- Review/update existing School Information (District > Schools > School Information)
- Review/update existing Departments (District > Departments)
- Review/update existing Subjects (System > Academic > Subjects)
- Run School Setup to create the scheduling year framework (Scheduling > School Setup)
- Update/add Calendar Events (District > Calendar > Calendar)
- Update Bell Times (District > Schools > Bell Time)
- Generate Day Codes (District > Calendar > Setup Daycode)
- Create/update Time Equivalencies (District > Schools > Time Equivalency Schedule)
- Create Attendance Closeout Default, if needed (Student > Attendance > Attendance Close Out Defaults)
Courses
- Update/add Courses (Scheduling > Courses > Courses)
Students
- Update all students’ Scheduling School and Scheduling Grade
- Building-wide Feeder Patterns (District > Schools > Feeder Patterns)
- Mass update retentions/exceptions (System > Scheduling > Mass Update Scheduling)
- Individually update exceptions (Student > Profile)
Rooms
- Review/update existing Room Information (District > Rooms)
- Room Syllabus
- Room Free Times
- Add/delete Rooms as needed
Staff
- Review/update existing Staff Information (System > Staff > Staff)
- Staff Courses
- Free Times
- Add/inactivate Staff as needed
