When the Search criteria is left at the default (All), searching by any part of the terms “male” or “female” will automatically filter by Gender. To search for student names that begin with M, Ma, Mal, F, Fe, Fem, etc., users must select one of the Search Criteria name options: Last Name, First Name, or Middle Name.
Editing an Attendance Profile
- The default date is the current date. To change this, click the calendar icon to select a new date
- Select Search if the date was changed.
- Attendance can be displayed with a Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Cumulative/Custom view depending on the tab selected.
- Select Edit to edit attendance or attendance details.
When using the Weekly, Monthly, Cumulative/Custom views, only days with an absent or tardy status will appear in the report by default. To see all days, check the Display Allbox.
- The Room No. column displays the room the course is taught in or displays an At Home icon if learning is remote
- The Events section displays any attendance events that have been assigned to the student for that date.
- Click the Add icon (+) to add a new event.
- Classes with a Tardy or Tardy & Dismissed attendance status will display an Expand icon to the left of the class details. Click the Expand icon to open the Time In/Out Log for the selected class.
- The In/Out column displays the time a student arrived/left for the day, based on Tardies or Midday Events
- The Note column displays attendance notes entered
- The Verified column displays a checkmarks if the attendance has been verified
- The Overridden column displays a checkmark if Period Attendance generated by an Attendance Event has been overridden by a user with Override Event permission. This is a visual flag for attendance clerks that the period attendance has been disassociated from the attendance event. This means that subsequent changes to the Attendance Event will not automatically update the overridden period’s attendance status.
- The Reason column displays the reason selected (if applicable) for the attendance flag. To learn more about how Attendance Reasons work, please review the Attendance Reasons documentation.
The absence and Reason code entered for Daily attendance will filter to all periods. An absence entered for a specific period will affect only the selected period.
- In the case of tardiness, a clerk should enter the time of the student's arrival into the Daily field, and the system will automatically mark the missed periods as Absent with a Reason of Tardy and mark the current period as Tardy with the arrival time indicated.
- If a period closeout default is set up for the school, the Attendance Status and Reason will flow to the Daily when updating Period Attendance through the Attendance Profile. More information on the closeout process is available in Determining the Daily Attendance Status.
