The GURU Student Assessment Profile provides all the functionality of the Mass Assessment Import tool and allows multiple file formats, assessment language support, and does not require assessments to be remapped with each upload. This lesson provides details into using the Student Assessment Profile.
For general Profile setup information, visit Create Import Profile.
Multiple Row Format
Is the student ID listed in a separate row for each score type?
ID number (Local ID, *State ID or *City ID) assessment date, assessment code, language if any, accommodation, mark obtained, and score type. A new record must be provided for each score type if the ID number, assessment date and assessment code is the same mapped to the appropriate Mark Obtained and Score Type.
Language and Accommodations are option elements. If Language is not included in the file, English is presumed.
If a single assessment has been chosen from the Assessment dropdown list, assessment code is not required in the import file.
When using the multiple row format, there is no need to select an assessment, but the assessment code must be included in the file.
Select By Score Type.
Single Row Format
Is the student ID listed in a single row with separate columns for each score type?
ID number (Local, *State or *City ID) assessment date, language if any, accommodation, and any marks for the specific score types (Grade Equivalent, Standard Met, Score, Scaled Score, etc in one single row.
Language and Accommodations are option elements. If Language is not included in the file, English is presumed.
When using the single row format, one assessment can be imported.
The assessment must be selected from the dropdown.
Do not select By Score Type.
General Guidelines
- Create a separate Assessment profile for each third-party vendor
- Don't re-arrange or remove columns from the vendor file – it doesn't matter that it contains additional columns, or columns in a different order.
- After mapping the vendor file, manually import the file and confirm the results.
- Once confirmed, take advantage of the description field to add relevant details such as the score types mapped within the profile.
- It is possible to schedule imports to occur on nightly basis, but this is rarely necessary and not recommended.
- Instead, schedule the import to occur after each administration period, or manually initiate the process without having to remap the file each time!
