The eSD® Student Discipline feature provides a way to record and report discipline incidents and actions in accordance with the requirements for the Uniform Violent Incident Report (UVIR), the Violent and Disruptive Incident Report (VADIR), and the NYS Dignity for All Students Act (DASA). Both locally-defined and state-reportable Discipline Incidents and Actions can be recorded. Discipline data is available by individual student or in an aggregated format. This lesson provides an overview of the Discipline tab of the Student Profile.
Discipline Tab Overview
- Go to Student > Student Profile, click the student’s name to open their profile, then select the Discipline tab. The Discipline tab displays the student’s Incident List, in reverse order by Incident ID. The Incident List identifies the incident details (Incident ID, Type, Location, Date, etc.) as well as the student’s Role in the incident (Offender, Victim, or both).
- Using the icons to the left of an incident and/or action, users can View or Edit the student’s existing incidents/actions.
- Using the icons to the right of an incident, users can Edit Offender Response, Assign Action, or Add an Intervention . Using the icon to the right of an action, users can Assign Days Served.
- Users can generate a Discipline Letter for selected incidents/actions, view or reset the Letter Logs, or generate an Incident VADIR Report using the State Incident button. Select New Local Incident or State Incident to create a new local/state incident. Incidents created through the Student Profile automatically assign the Role of Offender to the student.
