This lesson guides users through getting logged into eSchoolData, and then maintaining their account by changing their password and setting or updating security questions to ensure their account stays secure.
Repeatedly entering your password incorrectly will cause your account to be locked. You will not be able to request a password reset link unless you have answered your Security Questions.
Logging In
Since the eSD system is hosted in many different regions across New York and Pennsylvania, it is important to bookmark the URL provided by your district rather than doing a Google search.
Enter the URL provided by your district to access the eSchoolData (eSD) Login screen.
- Enter your Username and Password in the required fields.
- Select the Login button to complete the login process.
- The Forgot Password? link will generate an email to the user’s email account, allowing the user to reset their password automatically by answering their selected security questions.
Preferences Page
To access the Preferences page:
- Go to My eSD.
- Select Preferences.
- Use the dropdown menu to determine your Home Page.
- Use the radio buttons to set Warn me when I try to logout?
- Select a Left menu or Right menu Style.
- Select Change Password to update your password. See more below.
- Select Change Security Questions to set your update your Security Questions. See more below.
Change Password
After selecting Change Password on the Perferences page:
Enter a new password between 8 and 64 characters, including at least one number or special character.
Set or Change Security Questions
After selecting Change Security Questions on the Preferences page:
- Choose a Question from the dropdown menu.
- Enter an Answer for the chosen question. Choose an answer that is memorable but not easily guessed for each selected question. Each answer must be unique.
- Select Save Changes to apply the changes.
